Derwent Vista

The property is in high demand and we may suggest slight date changes to you to avoid stranded nights for us. Rest assured however that we will try and fit in with your requirements. One night stays are at our discretion and may attract an additional fee. Normally the minimum stay is 2 nights and during peak periods 3 or more at our discretion. Discounts may be offered for longer stays by negotiation. Please note that we reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving a reason.

Policy on Pets and Smoking

Pets are welcome at Derwent Retreat but not inside. There is an enclosure suitable for compatible animals.

Bookings

To make a booking please just email us and we will quote you and ask you to either pay by direct deposit us or fax back a credit card authorisation.

Please be warned a booking is not firm until a deposit is paid and the booking is confirmed by us as we also subscribe to several online booking systems.

Our current discounted rates for 2 people are 20% under rack rate. Extra persons attract a nightly charge as in the table. One night stays are at our discretion and may attract an additional fee. Discount may be offered for long stays. Weekend nights are Friday and Saturday.

Children and Infants

Children are defined as under the age of 12. There is no charge for infants sleeping with their parents or in a cot that are below the age of 2 years. All children are charged at adult rates

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be by email with read receipt, by telephone or in person during business hours. No refund is available for the base rate. The balance may be refundable at our discretion depending on how close to the booked date cancellation accompanied by application for refund is made. Any amount paid is available for an alternative booking date if available. Charges we have incurred are never refundable.

Warnings

The property boundary is the river and there are steep banks and rock ledges. There is a railway 300 metres to the west and a main road 400 metres to the west.

Terms of Rental

Young mobile children or others that require supervision must be supervised by an adult. Our properties are not designed for wheel chairs.

Pets are not allowed inside at any of our properties.

Smoking inside is prohibited. If evidence of cigarette smoke is discovered inside, the guest will be evicted without refund or recourse and a cleaning charge of $250 applied.

Facilities of the Elderly and Physically Handicapped

The property is not fully wheelchair accessible according to Australian standard AS 1428. It may suit people with limited disabilities depending on whether assistance was available from others in the party. There is one step to the front and side door and on the water side of the building one step to the verandah. All rooms are otherwise on the same level. The showers have entrance lips, are not suitable for wheel chairs and shower heads are not removable. Hand rails are installed in the ensuite shower and toilet. All door frames are standard size.

Other Facilites

The property has a modern fully equipped kitchen with microwave, hotplates, stove and fridge. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer. There is a separate barbeque area with a second dining table and chairs. There is a TV, stereo, ADSL2 wireless internet access etc. A heat pump provides heating and cooling. There are also supplementary heaters.

There is a large garden with many natural rock features and small basketball hoop for relaxation.
